Happy Sunday. What a fun Panthers game! Checking in tonight with a quick adoption update and a little story.
We’ll be up bright and early tomorrow morning heading downtown to get our fingerprints taken by USCIS for our I-800A application. After that, we will be waiting to hear back from them that our I-800A is approved. That should only take a few weeks and it’s a very big step because after that our dossier will be COMPLETE!
Once our dossier is complete, we will submit it to our agency (AGCI). After that comes the biggest unknown as far as timing – waiting to be matched. My prayer is that we will be able to see his/her little face by my birthday in October. That’s definitely a big prayer, but I’m choosing to have hope and believe it could happen!
I know I have shared before how hard it can be to trust in this journey and stay positive. Waiting is just not something I am good at, especially when we are waiting to meet our little one. In this time where most everything is out of our hands now and our paperwork is basically complete, there is a lot of space for the doubt to creep in. But there have been so many times where people have done or said small things that remind me this is happening, it is real, and everyone is excited.
Garrett came home from his trip to Cambridge on Saturday, and brought our little one these books! My heart. I love them so much. I can’t wait for story time and I definitely plan to take the smaller Peter Rabbit with us to the Philippines when we travel (whenever that will be.. hello, Jesus? We are ready to go right now!)
I love that Garrett was thinking of our little one while he was spending a very busy week in Cambridge. I can’t wait to see him reading these during story time!
He also surprised me with a beautiful cookbook of English Farmhouse dishes and some delicious British tea! I don’t have a picture of the tea, but trust me, I feel very fancy drinking it
